Margaret E. Metzger, PT

Margaret E. Metzger, PT, is a physical therapist with more than four decades of clinical experience and a focused specialization in pelvic health across the lifespan. Her current practice centers on women’s and children’s pelvic floor and gastrointestinal dysfunction, built on advanced training through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and direct mentorship from respected pelvic health clinicians Lynn Schulte and Dawn Sandalcini.

Margaret brings a distinctly trauma-informed lens to pelvic health care, shaped by training through the Allender Center’s Narrative Focused Trauma Care program and ongoing study with Kim Barthel of Relationship Matters in vestibular function, sensory regulation, and trauma-integrated care. This foundation allows her to treat the full picture of a client’s presentation — physical, neurological, and emotional — and to mentor interdisciplinary teams in trauma-informed, sensory-responsive care planning.

Her career spans pediatric and adult neurology, complex orthopedics, oncology, and skilled nursing care across hospital, outpatient, and home health settings, with roles at organizations including Seattle Children’s Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, and Providence/Swedish. Throughout, she has built a reputation as a clinical mentor and program developer, training staff on care standards and guiding teams through transitions with steady, expert leadership. A Cum Laude graduate of the University of South Alabama’s Physical Therapy program, Margaret is now seeking to bring her specialized pelvic health expertise, trauma-informed approach, and program leadership experience to a clinic committed to advancing whole-person care for women, children, and families.
