Kristen Harvey, MPT, OMPT, FAFS

Kristen Harvey, MPT, OMPT, FAFS, is a Physical Therapist at Alternative Back Care who genuinely loves helping people feel beter in their bodies again. She began her career in occupational therapy, working in hospital and inpatient rehabilitation settings from 1985 to 1992, before earning her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Oakland University in Michigan. Her manual therapy training runs deep. She’s certified in the Kaltenborn-Evjenth approach to orthopedic manual therapy, having studied personally under Olaf Evjenth himself, and she’s a Fellow of Applied Functunal Science through the Gray Institute. She also continues her extensive training in Thomas Myers’ Anatomy Trains, which has given her invaluable, hands-on skills in connecting manual work with functional movement. More recentlly, she’s built deep expertise in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy through extensive training with the Herman & Wallace Insitute.

With nearly 30 years of experience across hospitals, outpatient orthopedics, industrial rehab, pelvic health, hospice and skilled nursing, Kristen has cared for patients through nearly every kind of challenge the body can present. For her, technique is only part of the picture. What matters most is listening closely to understand what a patient wants and what their body actually needs to get there. That combination of serios clinical depth and genuine attentive care is what patients can expect every time they work with her.
