Physicians and ABC Physical Therapy

How is the Alternative Back Care Philosophy different from traditional philosophies?

The founder of Alternative Back Care Physical Therapy has observed and documented the high prevalence of sacroiliac joint dysfunction in patients with low back pain over the past fifteen years. Our work with the sacroiliac joint complex, back pain and migraines have received nationwide attention. Our results have given us a strong and loyal referral base. We are known in the medical community as the “go-to-guys” in the medical community for back pain and migraines and we continue to grow with word of mouth.

By employing sound biomechanical principles and physical therapy techniques, we have been able to develop a unique and systematic plan of care, which includes our “full circle approach” and the “Leveling Technique” for accurate alignment of the SIJ complex and all of the vertebral segments.

By employing sound biomechanical and physical therapy principles, I have developed an effective treatment protocol, and a philosophy of care that rivals and refutes many of the traditional approaches that are still being practiced today. In order for this plan of care to work, we explain the structure and function of the sacroiliac joint complex to our patients; we stress the importance of sacroiliac joint positioning; and teach and demonstrate the biomechanics necessary to keep their sacroiliac joint in a stable position. We also teach our patients how to self-align this joint in order to maintain proper alignment throughout the day. Experience has shown that this resolves or minimizes symptoms after successful alignment is attained.

Our success is directly related to compliance, effort and believing in the Alternative Back Care Philosophy of Care. Patients that are able to successfully embrace and follow the unique strategies, knowledge and biomechanics, have resolved their low back pain and are confident it will not return.

Patients who have a hard time believing the simplicity of this philosophy of care and believe it is something else causing their pain that surgery or medication should be able to fix and do not have the same success rate. Click here and read more about "How we treat low back pain"
