ABC PT Scope of Services
Interpreting Services
We have contracted with
Gloria Metal Interpreting Services of Gig Harbor
to provide high
quality, licensed interpreters for our patients. Every effort is made to
ensure that the right interpreter will be there at the right time with
the skills necessary to ensure that we are able to make your visits to
ABC Physical Therapy comfortable and effective.
Orthopedic Physical Therapy
ABC PT's orthopedic physical therapists find the cause of pain and get
it resolved. We diagnose, manage, and treat
disorders and injuries of the musculoskeletal system as well as
rehabilitate patients. Working with
physicians, physical therapists are responsible for physical
rehabilitation of the injured body. Joint mobilizations, strength
training, hot/cold packs, and electrical stimulation are modalities
often used to expedite recovery in the orthopedic setting. Those who
have suffered injury or disease affecting the muscles, bones, ligaments,
or tendons of the body will benefit from assessment by a physical
therapist.

Massage Therapy
Techniques used by our therapists include Swedish Massage (the basic,
relaxation massage), Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Trigger Point
Therapy, Range of Motion, and other methods learned in specialized
Continuing Education courses. Massage Therapy is typically used to treat
a variety of soft tissue injuries. However, massage is an effective
course of treatment for such conditions as lymphedema, fibromyalgia and
other pain syndromes.

Work Conditioning
Work conditioning is a rehabilitation approach designed to accelerate a
patient's return to work. Programs are customized to optimally prepare
an injured worker for the specific physical demands of a particular job.
Most workers are treated one to two hours per day, three to five times a
week, for two to four weeks.

Muscle Energy Technique
We assess the entire sacroiliac joint
complex and lumbar facets and the
correct alignment by using a muscle energy technique (MET) or
modified versions of it, to include gentle manual mobilization which
is quite accurate. Our goal is to achieve
proper alignment which usually resolves or significantly reduces
their symptoms immediately afterwards. When used skillfully, this
technique is extremely accurate and can take pain away immediately.
Even ¼ inch deviation with a sacral torsion will cause significant
pain or symptoms. This is clinically proven many times a day. The next step is to fixate this joint complex with a
sacroiliac joint belt, which stabilizes the sacroiliac joint by
compressing it.
